Chillagoe Mine Village was first established by Kagara Ltd in 2007. At its peak, the village housed approximately 240 people and consisted of 66 buildings. The village, located on the outskirts of Chillagoe, is walking distance to town amenities.
When Karaga Ltd went into administration in 2012, many of the dongas were removed and the remaining infrastructure put under care and maintenance. Auctus Resources acquired the village in 2015 when it took over the Mungana mining leases.
Auctus Resources awarded a contract to Ausco Modular to refurbish and rebuild the village to accommodate over 240 future employees and contractors who will work at Mungana and King Vol mine sites. Taking just 56 days, Ausco completed the refurbishment and construction and handed over the village on 20th September 2016. The village includes 244 air-conditioned and ensuite rooms, a gymnasium, outdoors recreation area, recreation room, and large mess/kitchen.
Following a very competitive tender process, Auctus Resources awarded a Facility Management Contract to Northern Rise on September 2016 who now have the Chillagoe Mine Village fully operational.
Since July 2016, Auctus and Ausco have set and achieved several key milestones.
