Construction first began on the Mungana Process Plant in 2007 under the direction of Karaga Ltd. It includes a single stage crushing circuit, ore stockpile and two mills. The second-hand mills, sourced from Spain, were originally designed for a production capacity of 500,000 tonnes per annum. In 2008 construction was 60-70% completed, but works were suspended on the plant. It has been under care and maintenance ever since and has remained in excellent condition.
In July 2016, Auctus Resources awarded an EPC contract to GR Engineering Services to complete construction of the process plant including infrastructure, mobile equipment, tailings storage, and engineering design, project and construction management (EPCM). The plant is scheduled to be completed in April 2017.
Modifications made to the plant design allow for an increase in plant capacity up to 700,000 tonnes per annum, production of a gold ore, fine ground circuit to deal with more complex ones and improved tailings handling
Auctus Resources and GR Engineering Services have planned the following works, commencing September 2016, to be completed over 40 weeks.
